My name is Chloé Joseph and I am Belgian. I’ve decided to do my internship of my second year in the International Cooperation studies at the headquarters of the NGO Otra Cosa Network located in Coventry, England, with as a task to support the development in northern Peru. I discovered Otra Cosa Network in the first year thanks to Mrs Juany Murphy who came to Belgium to inform us about her NGO. I was immediately attracted by the many projects offered by Otra Cosa Network in Peru, the country where I will carry out my 3rd year internship.
During my fortnight stay in Coventry, I helped Juany, a very lovely person, to translate from English to French the many projects Otra Cosa Network intends to develop. Furthermore, I attended and jotted down-via skype- the weekly meeting held in Peru. It has allowed me to understand more clearly how they operate. During the second week, I was asked to explore with Belgian and French universities to find new partners as volunteers or interns.
This stay was really rewarding, not only for improving my knowledge in English but also for my personal investment in an NGO. Now, I’ve got a better perception of the way Otra Cosa Network functions. I was really delighted.
Juany and her husband Peter, the head-managers are really charming and very welcoming. They know how to make you feel at ease and confident.
Don’t hesitate to join Otra Cosa Network, you’ll always be welcome!
