From Lima to Trujillo

Many volunteers arriving to Lima wonder whether it’s better to travel by day or by night in one of the bus companies in Peru. Traveling by day is definitely a worthwhile option. While you don’t have the opportunity to sleep in the comfort of the night sky, you will be able to see the coastal region of Peru from Lima heading north to Trujillo. Most people that tour Peru go straight to the southern region such as Arequipa, Lake Titicaca, and of course Cusco to see Machu Picchu. The northern region, although rich in archaeology, history, and natural beauty, gets often overlooked. The major benefit of travelling during the day by bus is that you have the opportunity to see some of Lima, the beautiful coastline of Peru, take a nap and wake up in the middle of sand dunes and mountains. This is a wonderful way to get to know Peru before arriving in Huanchaco. Here are some images to feed your curiosity. See you soon!
